dr Tamara Šarkić

Director

I got my doctorate at the Faculty of Medicine, and I am employed as a bioanthropologist at the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade. As a researcher, she is engaged in bioanthropology, studying ancient human bones and biographies of missing populations. She has been passing on her passion for science to the public, popularizing archaeology for years. As an associate and manager of the archaeology seminar at Petnica SC, together with a team of associates, she has designed archaeological projects, lectures and workshops for high school students from Serbia and the region. In the rare moments of boredom, she cooks or takes her trusty camera and photographs the Balkans.

dr Marija Krečković Gavrilović

Board president

She boosts her love of prehistory with physical anthropology and analysis of human skeletal remains. She is most interested in the people’s health (and their teeth) in the Bronze Age of Banat. Marija worked as a PR, and later as president of the Youth Initiative "I want! I can!". There she experienced volunteerism, popularization of science and activism and fell in love at first sight. You will most often find her in search of funding, arranging appearances in the media, correcting spelling mistakes in posts and waging the war on bureaucracy. In her free time, she reads fantasy books, sings in the choir and concocts new muffin recipes.

dr Marko Janković

archaeologist, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade

A professor specialized in Roman archaeology. During my entire career, I have been involved in the promotion of archeology through workshops for young people and writing texts in popular-science magazines. I've been excavating Roman necropolises for years, mostly making sure that Tamara, as well as the rest of the Neozoik, has enough to do. I find respite in reading comics and epic fantasy, with a certain Lenka helping me the most.

dr Teodora Radišić

archaeologist, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade

Doctor of Science specialized in the field of Iron age archaeozoology. I also love Roman fashion, and I pass that knowledge on to archeology students at the Department of Archaeology. Since I think that love for science comes from childhood, I got involved with friends in the Neozoik Foundation, in order to bring the magic of archeology closer to children. In my spare time I feed and watch birds.

Nevena Pantić

archaeologist, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade

A PhD candidate, employed at the Department of Archaeology. I discovered my love for archeology at SC Petnica, and continued to nurture it through my studies and work at the Neozoik Foundation. I am most fulfilled when I infect the youngest with enthusiasm for science. For this reason, I enjoy designing workshops for schoolchildren and their implementation. When I'm not on the field, I pack my bags and fly south.

At my PhD studies, I am dealing with the implementation of new technologies in archaeological research. In addition, I also make 3D models. I developed my love for archeology at SC Petnica as an elementary school student, and now I am developing my skills through the production of the Archaeological Journal. I want to write a "Hitchhiker's Guide to Archeology" and I love Eurovision more than Nemanja!

In my free time, I enjoy food or sleep, watch movies in the cinema or maybe walk around my Zemun with headphones in my ears (although if you approach me, I break the silence with local patriotic stories).

As a PhD student, I study gender theories in the past. I was an assistant at the archeology seminar at SC Petnica, and in addition I volunteered at many festivals, both artistic and human rights oriented. Simeun Srdanović

archaeologist, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade, Serbia

A Bosnian who lives in Slovenia and is currently on Master studies of archaeozoology in Serbia. During my studies in Belgrade, I realized that as an archaeologist I can influence the public's awareness of the importance of cultural heritage, and the Neozoik Foundation is a great opportunity for that. I recently discovered the existence of comic books, so in my spare time I read, walk or show people my favorite bone - the sheep's astragalus.
