In cooperation with the EU project for cultural heritage and tourism, the GIZ organization and the Đerdap National Park, we organized a set of archeology workshops for the students of the elementary school "Vuk Karadžić" in Donji Milanovac.

Why is the Lepenski Vir site important? How were people buried there? How are Lepenski Vir and the dog related? What kind of social games did Roman soldiers play in Djerdap? This and many other things were learned by the students of the sixth grade of Elementary School "Vuk Karadžić" in Donji Milanovac at the "Arheonica" workshop, which lasted from April 19 to 23, 2023.

We determined the gender and age of skeletons over 1,500 years old, talked about what the Romans cooked in ceramic pots, but also showed that archaeologists are not JUST engaged in research. We also played the "Game of mercenaries", a well-known board game of Roman soldiers! Archaeologists participated in its reconstruction, including a member of the Neozoik team - Marko Janković!

The "working part" of the "Archeonica" has been completed in style. With laughter and greetings, we distributed bags, badges and stickers to remind our new friends of this experience, and after that we went on an excursion!

On the last day of Archeonica, we visited the Lepenski Vir site and the museum exhibition. And we were especially happy that we had the privilege to "meet" Metahuman - one of the residents of this former settlement first hand!
