From 6th to 10th October 2021, the merry men of Neozoik Foundation travelled to Bela Palanka to give a series of workshops in “Ljupče Španac“ primary school – with a goal to teach kids about archaeology and the scientific method. Center for the Promotion of Science funded the project and National Library “Vuk Karadžić” provided us with the archaeological material and a team member.
In four days, the middle graders tried their hand in processing human and animal bones, ceramics vessels and making archaeological drawings. This hands-on approach helped them learn about the cultural heritage of their town, about its importance and why it is worthy of protection.
Workshops were concluded with a tour of ancient Remesiana.
